Blickshift 2024

A Year of Innovation, Development and Impact

As 2024 draws to a close, Blickshift looks back on an exceptional year marked by significant achievements, continued innovation, and a commitment to delivering excellence to our customers. From expanding our product offering to strengthening our global presence, we have taken steps that will shape the future of eye tracking for years to come. Here’s a look at the key highlights and milestones that will define Blickshift’s success in 2024.

Almost 100 tutorials for you on YouTube

When we started regularly publishing tutorials, how-tos and shorts on our YouTube channel just over two years ago, we had no idea how successful it would be. There are now almost 100 tutorials online. They cover all the important topics from A, like annotation to Z, like Z-level when annotating stimuli with AOIs. In addition to basic videos, we also show practical solutions for data analysis with Blickshift Analytics. The next videos are already in production. Topics include, for example Eye tracking with the iPhone or analyzing pupil changes with Blickshift Analytics.

A new level of eye tracking analysis

This year, we launched several new features and services designed to address the evolving needs of our customers. Our latest offerings use AI-powered dynamic AOIs and calculate all standard eye-tracking metrics with one mouse click. Also, Python scripts can directly be integrated into the analysis workflow and data streams can be annotated with multi-dimensional labels.

Existing Python scripts can be integrated directly into the analysis by using the Remote Computation Node

New Markets and Partnerships

2024 has been a year of significant global expansion for Blickshift. We successfully entered new international markets like India, Malaysia and Brazil bringing our products and services to an even wider audience. Our collaboration with leading companies such as On Target and our partner in Brazil have enabled us to leverage local expertise while offering innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of each market.

Research Projects

We worked together with Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences on the DataBikeSim project to identify and work out the differences in cycling behavior between bicycle simulation and real traffic events. Blickshift brought in its long-year experience in eye movement analysis and interface programming. The project still runs until end of March 2025 and we are excited to share our results with the community next year.

Sharing our experience with the next generation of entrepreneurs

Our CEO Michael Raschke was one of the excellent coaches who helped the Cyber Valley teams during the Cyber Valley Incubator refine their ideas and become entrepreneurs in the AI world by passing on his knowledge about building Blickshift and succeeding in the corporate world.

Looking Forward: What’s Next for Blickshift in 2025

As we look to the future, Blickshift is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.

In 2025, we are happy to announce that we are part of the PRETINA project. During the next three years, we will do research together with the partners about the privacy-preserving and legally compliant use of eye tracking in the entertainment sector. The goal of PRETINA is to provide privacy patterns and a practical guide for developers and users of eye-tracking.

In the coming year, we will also focus on enhancing and expanding Blickshift Analytics’ capabilities, such as audio support, visualization, a thinking aloud protocol, and AI, to improve the customer experience and increase operational efficiency.
